The amount of meat in the main course can also affect whether food is considered a snack or a meal.

A BLT is a Snack
A club sandwich is a Meal
There are exceptions to this rule as bacon wrapped scallops count as a full meal if you eat enough of them.

Toasting nuts
One of the most important aspects of making tasty candy is the nuts. They should be toasted before you add them to the candy. Toasting the nuts brings out the flavor of the nuts and keeps them crispy inside the candy.
My Favorite Fudge Recipe
One of the goals I have for this blog is to post a new recipe each week. The problem is that some weeks I do more cooking than others. I tend to cook two or three meals in the first two weeks of the month and eat leftovers for the rest of the month. Anyway, I have a bunch of pictures I took last year for this candy survey thing and I thought I would use them to post some of the recipes I made for Christmas last year.
Pepper’s favorite quilt

Last week Mom sent me a link to a webpage full of pictures of cats on quilts. Like all cats, Pepper also loves quilts. Her favorite quilt is a blue and yellow throw that I keep on the couch in … Continue reading
St. Louis Visit Recap and the Budweiser Clydesdales
Hi! I’m back from St. Louis! Josh and I had a great time this weekend. We did a bunch of exciting things and a few less exciting things too.
First of all, the drive really sucks! It is 6.5-7 hours long and after about 4 hours I’m tired and ready to stop. This could have something to do with the fact that I don’t have cruise control or I could just be a wimp. I definitely needed at least one night’s sleep to recuperate from the drive and as a result most of our plans for Saturday were a wash. We ended up sleeping later than planned, so we decided to see a movie. While we were waiting for our movie time, we spent a few hours window shopping at a fancy mall where we couldn’t afford anything.
St. Louis, here I come!
I’m traveling to visit Josh in St. Louis this weekend. I decided to post the last few pictures I took on my last visit in honor of this trip. Sadly, I only have three pictures.
On my last trip to visit Josh we went to the Renaissance Faire, we shopped for a mattress and we went to the Laumeier Sculpture Park.
Entrees that contain eggs (such as omelets) are considered meals as eggs are technically classified as pre-meat. The addition of meat such as sausage or bacon is recommended.

Pepper’s new box
Look what Josh found when he opened up his new sneakers! Just kidding. I think Pepper waited like 5 seconds before she claimed this box as a bed.
Pork Chile Verde
This is one of my favorite dishes! It is warm and sunny, a perfect meal for a cold winter’s day. It is also a great meal if you are feeling under the weather or depressed because eating it just feels like home and happiness. I like to eat it alone as a stew but it is also great on a bed of Spanish rice.
