Pile on the Miles Challenge

I’m participating in a blogging event!

PileOnTheMiles

Pile on the Miles is a yearly event hosted by Run Eat Repeat, a healthy living blog. The challenge is to pile on the miles instead of the pounds during the holiday season. This means walking or running as much as you can during the month of November. You set a goal for how many miles you plan on walking or running and there is a weekly check-in so that everyone who is participating can see how you are doing. There is a prize for the person who piles on the most miles and raffles for all participants. Check out Run Eat Repeat for all of the details and to sign up!

I decided to join because this seems like great motivation to get out there and exercise. Plus you are held accountable by the community and the weekly check-ins. Based on the number of miles I typically walk when I go to the Two Rivers or Big Dam Bridges on the weekend, I have set a goal of 60 miles for the whole month. That’s about 15 miles a week. I think this is totally achievable if I walk three or four times a week. The caveat to this plan is the fact that during at least one week this November I will be moving… I figure that I should go big and see what I can do.

I’ll keep you guys posted about how I do with the challenge! I’ve been so excited for this challenge that I got out to the Two Rivers Bridge for a walk this weekend. (And not just the zombie walk…) I noticed that the leaves are starting to change and I took a couple of pictures.

I might take new pictures each week to watch the leaves change color over the next month.
