I’m finally posting the last few pictures from my last trip to St. Louis.
On Monday morning, we woke up and I packed up all of my stuff. We then went to Josh’s favorite breakfast place, First Watch, for an excellent breakfast. (This was one of the highlights of the trip for him because he was seated in the “people with families” section of the restaurant instead of the “lonely old men” section of the restaurant. I had some delicious cranberry pecan pancakes. After breakfast we decided to go for a walk in the Laumeier Sculpture Park where we had tons of fun and took a bunch of silly pictures. Then I had to drive back to Little Rock.
I went to the website and looked up the names of the art we saw on our walk. If you are interested in the sculptures, you should check out the Laumeier Sculpture Park website.
- Ada’s Will
- The sculpture park has these maquettes all over the park. They are cast scale models of the sculptures for blind people to touch and determine what the sculptures might “look” like. The plaque on the front is written in English and Braille.
- Abstract Variation Lozenger No. 3
- Treetent This nut-like sculpture is a tree house
- The Way This sculpture is one of the largest in the park. It is made of salvaged steel oil tanks. It is a popular spot for wedding photography and has become the symbol of the park.
- Face of the Earth
- Ahhhh! Josh is being eaten!
- I rested in the shade of this enormous flower
- Ball? Ball! Wall? Wall The balls in this sculpture are recycled marine bouys
- Donut No. 3
- Heritage Schooner for Debra Lakin
